Genevieve Leiper is well-known, respected and loved in the photography and wedding industry. Born in Kennett Square, PA, Genevieve’s Father enjoyed photography and presented her with her first camera at age 14. She began studying photography at the age of 16 and very soon after developed her own personal style to her images. Right out of High School, Genevieve had the pleasure studying and working alongside famous nautical photographer Michael Kahn as his assistant for 4 years. As his assistant he taught her how to see and capture the light perfectly in her images and also how to sail. This gave her a love of the water and nautical world as well as the techniques to create timeless images.

Genevieve was seeking the perfect location to enhance her passion for animals, nature, photography and history. She found her home in an 1878 Farmhouse on 6 acres of land in Bluemont, VA which she named “Strathaven”.  She named the farm after the town her Scottish relatives immigrated from in 1763. On the farm, they take pride in raising Nigerian dwarf goats.  The farm is filled with beautiful pastures and babbling brooks, all perfect backdrops for her “Photography on the Farm” home-based business.

Of the 26 years Genevieve has been a photographer, 17 of those years she worked in the Wedding Industry with the start of “Genevieve Leiper Photography” in 2003.

Publications in several national and local magazines to include: Martha Stewart, The Knot, The Washingtonian Bride & Groom, and among others, have confirmed her ability as a renowned photographer. While based in the Northern Virginia area, Genevieve frequently travels to wedding venues throughout the nation and abroad.

Event Planning and Design

The Finer Points, LLC is an award-winning boutique event planning and design company specializing in Weddings with over 20+ years of experience in hospitality and event etiquette. The owners, Lynn Iannizzi and Laura Billak use their intimate knowledge of the industry and unrivaled attention to detail to ensure their client’s vision comes to life!

Lynn obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from John Carroll University and further studied Event Management at George Washington University. She was catering management for both Westfields Marriott and Lansdowne Resort and founded The Finer Points Event Planning in 2005.

Laura obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations Communications with a minor in Art Design from George Mason University and a Masters in Event Management from the International Institute of Event Management. Laura obtained a formal certification from the International School of Protocol in the areas of Social Etiquette, Communications Etiquette and Dining Etiquette both in American and Continental Dining. She began applying her knowledge to formal events and hospitality by creating an etiquette consulting company called P’s and Q’s® in 2005.

In 2014 Lynn and Laura began working together creating, planning and designing beautiful events for their clients and became partners officially in 2019.  The Finer Points has been recognized multiple times in The Knot as “Pick for Best Wedding”, Wedding Wire “Couples’ Choice Award” and Washingtonian Weddings “Top Vote Getter”.  From the initial consultation to the final toast concluding the event, they pride themselves on listening to the needs of their clients and what is most important to them.  Lynn and Laura are known for their calming personalities. Having the honor of being trained by a world-renowned artist, Jamie and her staff have worked as makeup artists for more than fifteen years. Morgan May is a highly sought after wedding and events floral designer. Born and raised in a Loudoun greenhouse with her hands in the dirt, Morgan May is Loudoun’s native horticulturist. Her beautiful organic chic floral design style and her ability to grow beautiful plants have been celebrated throughout the Northern Virginia area.

Morgan began Petals and Hedges in 2010 as a store front selling high end garden products and unusual plants. Petals and Hedges is recognized for creating romantic, colorful arrangements that serve as the perfect accent to bridal attire and transform event spaces into perfect wedding day visions.  Formally trained in estate gardening, Morgan possesses a unique understanding of botany, allowing her to offer a broad range of unique floral solutions for her clients based on their color palette, wedding date, and location requirements. In keeping with her estate gardening expertise.  Morgan provides fine gardening and design services for many historic estates and commercial properties in Loudoun County. Petals and Hedges is a 50-year family traditional in evolving and pushing the boundaries of what can grow in Loudoun and how stunning they can be prompting her to receive the award of top wedding company in Loudoun, VA in 2018.

Morgan’s friendly demeanor and dedication to exceptional wedding day florals has establish her as the go-to resource for brides in the DC region.
